You can easily determine the age of a peach by the length of the fuzz. Young tender moist ripe peaches are smooth with only a very light area of fuzz, while older juicy peaches can look pretty hairy. In any case, they're both perfectly fine for eating. It's true. You can look it up.

Thats a tough one.
In our house they are never too old, unless they have mold on them.
When they get super mushy, we peel and pit them, then blend them in the blender a little water, then add water and sugar, and voila...agua fresco de durazno.
Same goes for mangoes....I worked at a grocery store, and had a customer who would come in and offer to buy our old mangoes for like $1 for 10 mangoes. We let her have them, because we would just throw them away. She used them in smoothies when they got all smushy and gross.
They are best for blenders when they are almost falling apart.
