I want to get more tattoos, but my skin (especially my back and shoulders) have many freckles and moles (the freckles in 3-D). Will this effect placement of the tattoo? Will the freckles hold ink or not? ANY commentary would be appreciated.

I am majorly freckled, and have 4 tattoos, in black ink. None of my ink has been affected by my pigmented freckles. That being said, freckles might be a problem if you want to use light colored inks like yellows, lavenders, etc. Also, anything that juts out from the skin is probably a mole, not a freckle, and I don't suggest tattoing them, as they can change shape and coloration with age.

The freckles will just kinda blend in. Freckles and moles do not hold color per se and tattoo artists don't tattoo moles but freckles they will, I can't really see my freckles at all on my tats to be honest...

freckles can be tattooed over but not moles but if your "freckles" are raised then they would be considered moles and not freckles. i have a friend who is sleeved and he has freckles all over his arms and they are tattooed and fine but i have a mole on my back and it is not tattooed.
