I realize there is no god of science folks but the way some of its strictest adherents talk almost religiously about it.

What God of science? Science does not have a God in the terms you think of. All science is is a methodology and dicipline used to discover how things work. That is it. It is not based on belief or anything of that sort or any supernatural phenomena.

One of the reasons the common cold will always be around its because there are many strains of it. You can get a cold tis year but next year the virus will be different. So any vaccine that yu take this year may not protect you for the next or there after. Also, mutations ocuur that would make the cold virus inmune to one type of medicine

We think of the comon cold as something os a neusance now a days but it used to be that a cold could kill you. If it wasn't for the hard dedicated work of some scientist we would not be refering to it as the common cold but a serious disease.

Also, science deal with more things other than just medicine. Science can help you understand how something works but that doesn't mean you can fix it. Also, just because we cannot do something today it does not means we won't be able to find a solution in the future. Ormaybe there is no solution but that is why science is htere. To try to find out.

What might you regard as a scientific care? Your physique's motor vehicle-immune technique will do away with it in a week. Dosing your self with patent drugs might make it style nicer, even with the undeniable fact that it truly prolongs it. (for this reason no longer something acts quicker than Anadin) Leukaemia victims on beta-interferon are not getting colds. do no longer even have confidence approximately getting leukaemia to maintain the colds away. Beta-interferon will fee you approximately £3,000 a week. once you're pretty wealthy and be conscious of a dodgy pharmacist, there's a therapeutic.

At least science has found the cause of the common cold, which is more than religion did.

And science HAS found a preventative - vaccines. But they are ineffective because cold viruses rapidly EVOLVE and become resistant. BTW, why do you call the cold virus, simple. It is actually quite complex.

So, just wash your hands a lot and you'll be less likely to catch a cold in the first place. I haven't had one in years.

Because the "common" cold is actually made up of over 100 TRILLION different strains. We would need a super medicine that had a specific reation to each strain.

It could be worse, Science could just offer you some wine and a cracker...

Because the FDA likes to kill people. They put out all kinds of drugs that kill people in the upper 20,000's annually, and for every drug that has been found to be fatal there are still another couple of thousand that are just as potentially harmful out there.

The reason they do this is because the medical field wants to keep their money by trying to tell people that vitamins are bad and medicine is good.

Try taking 400 I.U.'s of VIT C and see how many headaches you have afterwards (considering you maintain that dose).

Actually, to be honest, it's not always the FDA, but it's the people in the medical field who FORCE the FDA to put out experimental drugs. Again, it's all for the money that they can make on surgeries, reconstructive methods, and ADHD kids.

Do you have any idea how complicated a retroviral infection is? It literally rewrites the host's cellular DNA.

There are stretches of human DNA that are from ancient viruses that were immunologically overcome, but their changes to the DNA was done and then passed on.

You figure out how to micro-edit the DNA in millions of cells simultaneously and get back with us if it's so simple.

The 'God of Religion' hasn't offered a cure for anything at all, let alone the common cold...so what is it that you are comparing? What you are you trying to prove because you have proven nothing.

there is most likely a cure for the common cold, however, the cold poses no real health risks and the drug companies make way to much money from their remedies for the cold, that to give a vaccine would be detrimental to the economy. think it's far fetched? not really.

I wouldn't even still be alive today if it weren't for the "god of science," as you call it, so I think I'll put up with a little cold every now and then.
