I would like to know what the first step is to getting his green card. He graduates in 1 year and we want to live in the USA, but have no idea where to start. I am a US citizen.

If you are American he can apply for a Green Card as your spouse. He should get his Green card within 6 months, with a two year expiration. You will have to interview with the IRS in order to proof your marriage is not arranged.

as far as i understand the fact thta u, an american citizen, r married to a foreigner will grant that foreigner a citizenship at least. just like ur baby will have both nationalities if u would like!
