I don't think juice is bad on a diet where you aren't dieting for reasons such as to control diabetes or trying to do a low carb diet.
I would advocate that you buy fresh fruits and vegetables and make your own juices, which would allow you to get a lot of the fiber that you are generally missing with commercial juices. It'd probably be a lot cheaper too.
Also, another point to consider, is when you drink commercial juices, check the label to see if there is a lot of added sugar. Fruits are high in natural sugars as it is - when dieting you don't want a bunch of refined sugar added on top of that.

It is actually a fast rather than a diet... you have to be careful with it but it will do the trick for weight loss... however, you will find that it has a tendency to come back soon after you stop the fast. You should try asking this in the vegetarian and vegan section... It gets asked in there all the time and usually gets a few good responses from those who have done it or do it on a repeated basis.

I think it would have a lot of sugar and calories and be unbalanced. The body is a machine; unless it is a brief fast, your diet should be balanced in a reflection of your individual health. If you are male, or building muscle, eat a little more protein. If you are working a lot of cardio, add some extra complex carbs. Otherwise, eat only the number of calories you need to get and stay at your target weight. A good shortcut to figuring that number out is to multiple your target weight by 100 (100 lbs, 1000 calories) plus 20% and modify according to your exercise calories spent.. Good Luck!

Yeah, but even though fruit juice has natural sugar, it still may be alot of sugar going into your system. It might be okay short term, but I wouldn't do that for too long. You also need to add exercise longterm if you relaly want to lose the wieght and keep it off. Good luck.

Keep that meal between 400 and 600 calories. Serve yourself a scaled-down portion, so if you like coming back again for seconds, you'll just wind up eating a normal-size portion.

while it may be better then just cranberry juice its still not healthy. its best to eat healthy and exercise. I suppose if you had some dental reason to not be allowed solid foods those juices surely provide the most nutrition but should not be sub'ed for a whole meal
