It is unfortunate that we are in Iraq and mistakes were made in getting us there. But to lay the blame entirely on Bush is wrong as the Democrats were clamoring for the removal of Saddam long before Bush was even president.

By the way, Bush stated from the beginning that there was no direct connection between Saddam and 9/11.

To come home before the situation in Iraq is stabilized would be a grave mistake. The US military is keeping the current situation down to a whisper. Yes people are getting killed but mostly through roadside bombs and suicide bombers...Not all out war which would happen were we to leave. The solution
that I believe would work is to take out Iran who is providing the roadside bombs and other munitions , and Syria where most of the non-Iraqi terrorists are coming from. Without Iran and Syria stirring the pot, Iraq will be on its way to becoming a democracy.

note: 34 years ago the US bailed on Vietnam. Two years later the North Vietnamese took over and 10's of thousands of South Vietnamese civilians were killed. Later, over 1 million Vietnamese refugees(the boat people) died trying to flee Vietnam under communist rule.

Why don't you ask the Iraqi people what they think? I know what the liberal media would have you believe, but it was time to help the people of Iraq. 9-11 may have been an excuse, but for the 10+ years after the first gulf war, Hussein did nothing bu thumb his nose at the world and even tried to kill off many of his people including the Kurds. As the last super power in the world, we do have a responsibility to help others. We also have a responsibility to look after our best interest. To think that Iraq did not or does not support the kinds of people that carried out the attack on 9-11 is naive. I would rather fight over there than here on American soil. How about you?

Yes, we should stay there. Too many of our guys have died there to just pack up and leave. But one of the problems we're facing is these God damned politicians can't figure out what the hell they're doing. They need to allow the Joint Chiefs of Staff define a clear cut mission, something that HAS to be achieved, and set out to achieve it. We don't have that. Iraq has been turned into a gigantic Charlie Foxtrot. And the worst part? Those same politicians who claim to care so much about us soldiers have us running around the desert like a chicken with it's head cut off while they scream at each other in the halls of congres over MONEY!

We had no business invading Iraq in the first place. That nation in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S. 9-11 was the perfect excuse Bush needed to satisfy a personal vendetta his family had with Hussein, and which gave Cheney and his Exxon-Mobil buddies reason to steal all of Iraq's OIL. Our troops were 'conned' into thinking they were helping to bring democracy to Iraq, when - in fact - all they've done is aided the giant U.S. military-industrial complex to reap BILLIONS from OIL and WAR PROFITEERING while gullible American taxpayers continue to go TRILLIONS of dollars in debt, thanks to this immoral and unjustifiable 'war'. -RKO- 05/23/07

If we come home, in 6 months we'll be back and that war will be a huge regional war and if that's what you want than be prepared for a body count to rival what we have already.

Why does this question still come up. Its simple yes we needed to go over there. Yes we need to finish the job. Yes the troops do support what we are doing over there. Theres nothing that you or anyone else can do about it. So get over it and let the troops do their jobs.

What do you mean: 'we?'

If you are not in Iraq or have not served there - you are not part of 'us.'

BTW - the troops believe in what we are doing. And see the actions of the anti-war people as betrayal.
