Ginger is refered as a root and is originated in China. Then spread to India, Caribean, South africa.
It is comonly used as a cooking spice, as an infusion to relieve upset stomachs and to make the well known "Ginger ale" usually used as home remedy or to mix and obtain alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
It is known as Jenjibre in spanish, gengibre in Portuguese, and zenzebro in Italian.
How to make your own Ginrer ale drink??
There are lots of variations, this is the one I know and I hope it helps
Basicaly use:
Fresh ginger root (1 cup peeled, finely chopped)
2 Lemon rinds
4 Tsp Honey, to taste
Boiling water (2 cups)
Seltzer or Club Soda
Put the ginger and lemon rinds in a small bowl with the honey. Pour in 1 cup boiling water (or just enough to cover). Let steep for five minutes.
Strain and chill. When ready to serve, add the seltzer water or soda, add a lemon juice and serve with ice cubes.
