Unfortunately most doctors won't perform the procedure unless you have a certain amount of kids or are over a certain age, it differs by doctor, but there is no set law that I know of. A woman basically has sell her reasons to the doctor like a used car salesman as to why she wants it done (though a man can get a vasectomy no problem. Go figure. Another way the men who run the country think they can make choices for us). It's sad a woman can't just make a choice like this. I understand some loons could try to sue the doctor later on, but that's why the doctor should just have the lady sign 100 documents. I know you have to get a psych evaluation as well. Check out your local NOW chapter (National Organization for Women) and see if they can direct you to a doctor who supports your decision if you're looking into it.

I was 22 when I had my first son and told them to tie my tubes and they said they couldnt because I was under 25 with one child. So I had my second child at 26 and wanted them tied and they said no I had to be a least 30? So I have absolutly no clue of the age or amount of children in order to have it done

Actually most states have guideline and on average unless you have a medical condition it is

23-25yrs old

or

have 2-3 children

I can not say for all states but it is generally the guideline
Remember this is just and average and you will need to check your state guidelines or talk to your doctor about what the reason they will not do one or when they will which ever your case may be

Just make sure before you have it done you are sure that you do not and will not EVER want any more children

depends on the state not your doctor. The state of Pa is 3 kids or the age of 21. You need to check and see what your state law is. You can find this out by asking your doctor, he will know, but he does not make the decision. You can also find out by searching online, here is a website with some useful answers and tips. http://www.ewtn.com/library/MARRIAGE/TUBALLIG.TXT. Here is what i found on the subject:
Minimum age and spousal consent requirements for sterilization have been reduced in
many states, which may cause stress in marriages, especially when a couple reconsiders
this permanent decision earlier in their married life. Two-thirds of sterilizations are
tubal ligations, in contrast to the early 1970s when nearly 60% of such operations were
vasectomies.28. For more information on your states requirement for sterilization check your local hospital.

Hope this helps.

Not really, but some doctors won't do it if you have only one child or are very young. My sister wanted to have her tubes tied at 26 after her second child, but the doctor didn't want to do it in case she changed her mind. My other sister had her second child at 25 and her doctor didn't want to tie hers either in case she changed her mind. I was 28 when I had my second child and they asked me if I wanted it done (I said no). You need to be really sure that you don't want to have any other children before you take such a drastic step. If you are really sure you want it done, you can probably find a doctor that will do it.

Nope, I don't know how old you are but if your thinking about it, I would really think before making a choice.. sometimes people rush into things and regret it BUT if you want it done, it doesn't matter how old you are of if you have kids at all.. they also have a birth control now that last like a yr that the doc puts in and you don't have to take a pill or anything which is another choice just incase..

It all really depends on you doctor. In most cases it is as follows:
21 years of age
2 or more kids
difficult pregnancy and next may be harmful

But if you find the right doctor and insurance or you are willing to pay cash you can probably still have it done

I had a tubal ligation after my third pregnancy 4th child (twins)

Every OB is different. My doctor likes women to at least be in their late 20s. After having my 2nd child at 22, I decided that the best bc for me was Mirena. Its a tiny little IUC and it stays in for 5 years, so you dont have to worry about remembering a pill everyday. You should check it out, its a great alternative to getting your tubes tied and its very effective.

Most doctors will require it. I'm assuming you're young. The difference in what you want from 22 compared to 32 years old is the same as what you want at 12 compared to what you want at 22. You should wait. Consult your OB about a method of b/c that is simpler for you.

Its a matter of choice, so long as you are over the legal age.
Your question was very general. It is the least obtrusive for a women to have it done immediately following the birth. It is a much more involved procedure for a women to have this done than a man. Also, getting it reversed (should you ever change your mind) is never guaranteed.

Hope that helps.
