No. Quite the opposite. If you are on birth control pills, antibiotics such as amoxicillin can render them ineffective, and you can get pregnant.

If you are on birth control pills and need an antibiotic, you should use a backup method of birth control for the whole time you are on the antibiotics, plus another 7 days.

The only way that amoxicillin is useful as a contraceptive is if you take a tablet and hold it firmly between your knees!

I'll have to say no but this section might help:

SECOND-GENERATIONS PENICILLIN

The second generations penicillin includes ampicillin, amoxicillin, and similar drugs that are considered to have an extended or broad spectrum. They are effective against Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, and Haemophilus influenzae, which are responsible for common urinary, respiratory, and ear infections. Amoxicillin is widely used and well absorbed from the GI trct and produces higher plasma drug levels than does ampicillin.

Hope That Helps. Sorry if it didn't.

Never....amoxicillin is an antibiotic that inhibits the synthesis of the wall of some bacteria.. (hemphyllus, neisseria, streptococcus etc) .it has no effect whatsoever in fertility or risk of pregnancy..
The world would have a few more millions of inhabitants if amoxycillin were used to prevent pregnancy...!!!
Beware....not a contraceptive..!

When a woman who is on birth control pills is put on an antibiotic her doctor always tells her to use another form of protection because the antibiotic will lessen the effectiveness of the birth control pill...so I think no.
