MST was a rate I hadn't heard of before !! MST = Marine Science Technician. See the link below at the Coast Guards website: http://www.gocoastguard.com/Rates/MSTrate.htm

I won't make any jokes about my shipmates in the "shallow-water-Navy"... just remind them to be careful not to damage the training wheels on their cutters
