Its not a religion of hatred, but in the last few 100 years mufties have perverted and twisted the religion. By adding in their own extra bits.

The media should never be taken on face value and always questioned..

I don't believe any religion is bad, just missunderstood, and the religious leaders tend to take what they want from the religion and leave the rest.

Most religions would look down on killing of any sort yet most religions have taken part in killing.

More recently muslims have been in the public view as it is such a large part of the worlds population and a large percentage of them are poor an uneducated. This makes for angry miss guided ideologies and perceptions of the world, and is why they hate the western world.

You always hate what you cant have or don't have, its human nature.

Just to add I am Jewish and believe that problems in the middle east can be fixed, people there have to calm down a bit and maybe if it snowed more often there they would stop fighting ;)

Its a very heated and hot blooded area of the world !!!!

I like what Pulse said...it should snow there.

IT IS a hot blooded area...the whole mediteranean region is...ppl in the US don't get that. Also, there tends to be more crime in hot regions than in cold regions. If it snowed and ppl had good paying jobs they would probably fight less. I don't think you are going to tell you boss that you have to miss work again to go protest again and vandalize some stores just like you did every day last week....

I'm muslim and no the media doesn't carve what I think of Islam but I am also not a Muslim who refuses to see the faulty thinking of some. It bothers me when Muslims refuse to talk about the problems (not with Islam but with) some muslims. Like the problems will just go away....

of course not.................. and of course I am speaking for myself only.
I do believe it does carve deep negativity in the uneducated and the willling to learn.
I have never judged any religion or faith by what the media says because anyone with brains knows it's all lies and it's negativity that sells the most. A smart person will always research before forming an opinion.

Islam is not a religion of hate or terrorism

Islam is a beautiful way of life

Absolutely NOT! I live in a Muslim country, I have converted, I live a Muslim lifestyle. I know from personal experience how Islam should be practiced and that is how I practice it. I know that Islam is not a religion of hate and terrorism and it makes me sad to see a tiny minority have tarnished the name of Islam and made things difficult for the majority.

Followers of any religion can twist its sacred texts to justify hate and terror. Some "Christians" (cough - Phelps!) roam the Bible looking for quotations to support the most vicious distortions of its message. It is really no surprise that individuals of other religions may do the same.

Islam is a religion of peace- it ticks me off what the media does to sell a paper. I've done many projects on islam for my classes in college, the more i find the less violence i see.

Media never tell the truth! For me if i want to find a truth is by learning.10 out of 1000 bad apple causing a bad name for a shop. is it the way people treat or is it they are blind.. why are they looking on the bad 1 only? why can`t they open their eyes to look at the beauty of ISLAM.

No it is not influenced by the Jewish controlled Western Media. I'm Muslim and I support what Sudan has to do to keep Darfur intact. I also support my brothers and sisters in Palestine. By the way Sudan is a good strong Muslim country and they ARE NOT killing innocent people. Those are radicals in Darfur. The Christains need to quit trying to split Sudan in half and either except Sudan as it is or get out.

No, there is no way of seriously developing understanding of any religion by means of biased media. The only way to develop a clear picture of what anything is about, is to research it independently.

The media? where else do people get information? You sound as if you think the media might be uniformly slanted against Islam, as if all the negative stories about them were untrue and that somehow they omitted that story about how some Islamic research hospital discovered a cure for cancer. Get real, the bombs happen, riots and uprisings continue to happen, very few research hospitals exist in the middle east and when people want good medical treatment they come to the west. The media doesn't make that up.

And if it makes you feel any better, I don't have a markedly different view of Christianity. Sure, it's much (MUCH) less violent but its purpose seems to be to tell people they should feel shame about just about any form of pleasure.
