well I lost a brother and a cousin on 9/11 and they were firefighters and we were crushed and so hurt that we almost could not breathe . My father had to take a sedative when he heard . It is nothing that you can really describe . It is more of a feeling that you cannot put into words . I hope I helped .good luck with your essay.

I have lost someone I loved deeply and yes she was a family member. When she passed away it was like I not only lost a great friend but I also lost a piece of my history. The point of having a family is to share your life with them if it is a genetic family then you share a living history with one another. You can also have a family that is not genetically connected as well, such a church family, school family ect. Sharing good times and bad no matter what a true family will be there to support you through both good and bad.

Yes, I have lost a few people that I was very close to!But the one that I remember most is Trey, he was a really great guy that killed himself. He was very sweet. Oh by the way the point in having a family is so that someone is there when you are sad and one of the best things about having a family is knowing that someone cares. To tell you the truth I wouldn't make it without mine supporting me with everything I wanted and want to do.

Hi, to lose a family member is very hard, my brother at the age of 30 passed away last July, we were extremely close and now he's gone, I realize now that he is in a much better place but I have suffered from depression because of his death, I have nightmares about his funeral and I have lost my best friend in the world... it all depends on how close you are to that family member, if you are extremely close like me and my brother it will more and likely devastate you...

Its feels really terrible it's like your family is slowly coming apart and it feels like you're shattered on the inside. My grandpa passed away november 4th last year from a heart attack. He was one of the most important people in my family. Everyone loved him very much. Now whenever I think of him, I start tearing up because of all the memories I shared with him. Life sucks whenever a loved one passes away. At least he isn't suffering anymore and is in a better place now ❤️

It is terrible to lose someone you love! There are people in your life that influence you a lot. Your parents, grandparents, siblings, and even your children (if you have them). Every person that you are influenced by leaves a legacy behind when they die. When someone you love dies, I think it teaches everybody to appreciate and value their life just a little bit more. Everybody loses someone they love! But remember, even when someone dies, they might be in Heaven with God. And that is the best gift of all.

Honestly, it depends on your connection with that person. It feels devastating and as time goes by, you usually recover and focus on good memories. Family is part of your past, your support. The reality is that everybody dies. You can't avoid it. You miss them, you feel lost without them (support gone) for awhile. Sometimes you feel nothing as in the case of an abuser.

here are my personals i hope it will help:
my mom and dad separated when i was 18 months old
anyway i was left to live with dad
my dad died when i was only 7years old.
of cancer leaving me with a bunch of relatives
i was very hurt and lost, and stressed out too
which resulted in me wetting bed at nights
failing grades,aggressiveness,lost of appetite
surely one can understand what i was going through
after all he was my only hope of ever having a family
and in the blink of an eye he was just taken
no questions asked!!!!
3years went by i started confiding in my aunt she became mysource of happiness
everything was perfect but yet too, good to be true!
i was in the 10th grade when she started having heart problems, however we defeated that, but two months after my graduation.
i told her am ready to find mom
she finally agreed, while i was at mom's house
i got a call telling me that she had passed away just lastnight
..................i...was a total mess....i went back home to clear my head but couldnt stay there, its was way too much!
i cry for her more than i ever cried for dad.am still not over this one.
the last one my grand aunt rema
i was her nurse
her friend
the only one she trusted
and she died in my arms one night while i was brushing her hair!
she was 89years old so i understood hers completey
besides that we had a chance at saying goodbye, she went peacefully.
but still....
now for your question...we need family and loved ones even though we may lose them they fullfill over dreams and desires they are our foundation.
yes if we had choice we would do things diferently but we dont
its God's calling and he decides who stays and who goes.
we just have to suck up our pain and venture into the world to find peace among others and cherish whats left of our families, and the memories of our loved ones,
no need in asking why because we all know the reason already.
its unfortunate but real
and life is everything thats real.
thanks for sharing!!!

its a horible feeling to lose a family member. i lost my older brother just last year.. now there is an empty space in my life. i always think i see him when its only other people who bare a resemblance, same height, hair color, beard style. it also has a way of making you look at your own life, and mortality. but i will always be glad he was my brother. a family is a life time of peaple who will love you, and i couldn't see my life without it. and to see my own children fills me with such a feeling... more of a flood of feelings.. happy, fear, anger and appsolute joy... what a rush.
