By continuing to condemn terrorism and extremists and showing people that Islam doesn't allow the murder of innocent civilians and doesn't allow terrorism. By showing the West that women in Islam aren't oppressed and maybe by trying to get FOX NEWS and CNN to show some REAL Muslims not Jews paid by the media to pretend they were Muslims what Islam is really about. By encouraging people to visit Muslim communities in America and showing them our way of life and that we aren't all a bunch of fanatics out to kill every non Muslim.

Let the moderate, great Muslims educate the non Muslims about Islam, not the radicals.
It is easier and better to understand the Muslims when some of them are not screaming death to this or that. A spoon full of sugar goes way much better when it is not accompanied with screams of death, and conquering others.

We need to respect each others as human beings, and with that it will be much easier for all of us to educate others about our believes, including Islam.

Sunnis Killing Shias and visa verse. Today in Lebanon Muslims are killing each other, and Turkey as well as many other countries.
If that is not the true Islam! Then the education first must start with the Muslims before attempting to educate others what is the true Islam is all about.

We need to work together, and it takes two sides, not just one. It takes all to make it work for all to respect each others as human beings not just as what we believe in whatever religion.

I actually don't think we need much education on Islam, we know what it's about, and I think you can start by being honest about that and stop trying to defend Islam with cherry picking, half-truths, and deception. I think Americans can learn more about Muslim people by studying their culture, society, and history. Learning about people is imoortant to understanding them better and being able to relate.

They dont need to educate the west... they need to educate the extremists inside their own religion. They gave the west plenty of education on 9/11/01.

Most people in the west understand that not all Muslim's are evil... but there are still a lot that want to kill us... and we know that as well.

There should be an outcry among Muslims to stop the killing... but they wont do it... that is all the education I need.

First you need to define "True Islam" and to do that you need some kind of central leadership that can reign in the radical Imam's that are preaching hate.

Next, you need to ease up on the rule stating that one Muslim should not speak badly of another. If a Muslim is preaching hate, the others SHOULD speak out against it. The silence shows acceptance of those radical teachings to the rest of the world.

Lastly, be good examples of your faith and tolerant of others.

Live it. Lead by example. Talk about Islam. Don't shove it down their throats, just talk to people whenever it comes up. Don't shy away from topics such as religion, embrace who you are. Accept other people, not just Muslims because they already know about Islam - how will you teach people if you stay boxed up?

I agree with Chery... we whould show people by setting an example of how TRUE Muslims live and behave. At the same time, others need to drop their stereotype ideas about Muslims and learn to open their minds to the truth.
