Industrial design is a good way to use your love of hands-on work, along with making money.
Industrial design is like product design... everything from television remotes to dentist chairs, toasters, hairdryers, cash registers, furniture... EVERYTHING must be designed to be easy-to-use, intuitive, comfortable. To be successful as a product designer, you use a lot of your creativity.
I'm in design school, and the ability to use my creativity for a PURPOSE, to create things for people to use, is so rewarding.

why don't you look into design, functional, etc. Designing things like furniture, kitcheware, all that stuff we use everyday. It can be much more lucrative than Graphic Design, it's three dimensional and more hands on. I have a friend in furniture design right now and another that went to Parsons(i think that's what it's called) in NYC and both are loving it. Good luck, do what you love, worry about money and junk later, it will pay off when you don't loathe going to work every morning like some of us.

You could easily make a supplemental income by displaying your crafts at flea markets or craft shows. Alot of cities/churches and other places have craft shows that are advertised on websites and in newspapers.
You could also sell what you like to make on an auction site, like Ebay. There are a few people that make a pretty good income from that. :)

you could paint pics paint furniture the possibilities are really endless find what your best at and go out and do it no one can really tell you how to start your own business like that you just have to put yourself out there and sometimes make sacrifices
