Cold sores are caused by a virus. I don't think they will be gone by Friday, no matter what you do. I use Blistex when I get them. If you want to treat it, Zovirax cream works, but you need a prescription and you need to put it on as soon as you feel the sore.

I have the kind on your lips. Mine last three days because I take pills called lysine when I get one and these help speed up healing time. Don't go buy those abreeva or anyother medicine like that. Those DON'T work. I've been getting cold sores since I was little. You can get lysine at Wal-Mart or Wallgreens. And it isnt that much. Just take one or two a day for three days and it should be mostly gone! Hope this helped!

They will probably not be totally gone by Friday. How long they last varies from person to person. Just remember that herpes is contagious when the sores are draining so do not kiss anyone and do not share eating or drinking untensils.

It depends on where they are. The ones on the actual lip part of your mouth, they usually go away within a week or 2. But if its in the corner of your mouth it will prolly last alot longer, due to cracking from opening ur mouth. If its in the corner get some medicine for it. Like at H-E-B or whatever store is near you.

They can last for weeks! I got a simple solution. Buy Hydrogen Peroxide at your local drugstore (it's only like $1 a bottle) and apply it everynight with a q-tip to your coldsore. If the coldsore is in your mouth, let it fizz for a few seconds. It will take care of any pain instantly AND will heal so much faster.

My boyfriend gets cold sores a lot and never treats them and they just usually go away.

i had one never treated it it took about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks and it hurts like a *****!
