Adult food won't hurt .... but be careful .... a bulldog's weight can get out of control in a flash. Once he is overweight you will have a very hard time getting the weight off again and the overweight dog will have the risk for many health problems. Good luck! BTW .... I would rather have my dog a hair underweight then any bit of overweight!

i just rescued a 10 month old american bulldog from a neglectful situation...u know the one that goes oh he is so cute until he get put on a lead and left to rot...he has had a little training and is so loveable but i have a small 3 year old german shepard mix that is my life! and the bulldog wont stop biting and pulling on his neck. The bull could kill my dog out of chase and capture and I hate it and now i have to keep them seperated due to the bullying the pup is doing. He has only been with us for 3 days but i am still nervous. But if he doesnt listen and keeps making my other dog miserable then I cant keep him and am desperate to teach him. He is 10 months and 90 lbs...by the way he is the best at almost everything else...Help Please!!!

How about a better food?

Yes, they are a little more expensive, but you won't be feeding as much per feeding as they get more out of it. Foods that are high in grains (fillers) makes them feel full temporarily, and just as much come out the other end that went in.

I have dobermans. My male is a very active high drive dog. He was burning calories 5x faster than normal and always looked thin. I switched him to Canidae, kept him on the recommend amount and he is filling out nicely! His eating habits have changed, now, he isn't eating like they aren't going to make any more (like he's starving to death). His coat, skin and teeth look great too!
Canidae runs about $40 for a 40 lb bag. No by-products, and the only grain is brown rice (no corn, soy, wheat...etc).

If you are not feeding your AB a diet of atleast 28% protein each meal then your dog is just burning off the fat, they are a high energy breed, change it to an RMB diet and watch the change, just google it. minced chicken wings and tripe etc are good as daily meals and organ meat as a once a week only treat is great

It truly depends on what food you are feeding her. I feed Canidae All Life Stages, and when I switched to it my underweight dog gained weight naturally...

if that is what your vet suggested, i'd try it. sometimes puppies need to be put on adult food once they reach a certain weight.

Yes. More calories and baby formula works well too! Watch which dog food you use though. Some have to much salt. Pedigree is best. Get her spade also.

large breed puppy, add some peanut butter in the food for extra protein and fat. you can also think about soaking the food in milk. not 2% or fat free but whole milk.
