the wedding and engagment rings are worn on the third fingur of the left hand believed to be becasue it is the finger that the main artery that goes to the heart is located. First comes the engagment ring, then when you marry you remove the engagement ring and place on the wedding ring then replace the engagment ring.. the significance of the wedding ring is the symbolizes the financial sacrafice the groom has made for her hand in marriage...and traditionally the wedding band should equal to the amount of 2 months of the grooms salary

The wedding band goes on the finger first. Many brides dont wear the engagement ring for the wedding or wear it on the right hand, but many as I did in my first marriage and intend to in my upcoming 2nd wedding, just removed the engagement ring when he puts on the wedding band then put the engagement ring back on.

the wedding ring goes on first so that it is closest to your heart. I have an anniversary band that I wear first then my wedding band then engagement ring. We did it a little backwards. My husband was given from his great aunt a beautiful platinum and diamond band which I used as a wedding band then he purchased a platinum wedding band to wear with it then the engagement ring. So it all depends on how you want to wear it. Think it all has the same meaning, but if you ever get an eternity band put that first because that represents forever and isn't that what we all want right. Good Luck

When you get married you should not have your engagment ring on because the wedding band is supposed to be closest to your heart.. so you wedding band goes on than the engagement ring.. at least that is what I was told. I would really love to know also what the proper way is. I have my wedding band on first.

The wedding band because its suppose to be kept closest to your heart. Its either believed, or there actually is a vein that runs from your ring finger directly to your heart...hence the wedding band being put on first.
