Well, since you still know the difference between the real world and your fantasies - you're not Delusional.

It's normal to fantasize, you're just a little more into it than a lot of people. You have a good imagination.

For me, I started doing this when I was about 10 (19 years ago) and I've never grown out of it. I don't get so deep into it anymore because I give it an outlet - I write. I'm not as good at writing it as I am envisioning it, so I don't share the stories. I lead a "normal" productive life, but still fantasize. When I get some quiet time away from work and hubby, I day dream & write - it's kind of like visiting old friends now.

A lot of us who build our fantasy world (I know several people like us) tend to be shy kids or don't quite fit in. I think it's a healthier way to get by than burying your personality to be popular. It allows your brain to develop it's creative areas. I took inspiration from the massive amounts of books I read and created my own "series".

I've also noticed a link to depression. If you have some of the symptoms of depression, look into getting that treated. I found I slipped into my fantasies less when I wasn't "in a funk". I disagree with the idea that it's ADHD, there's too much time involved in one area. Most ADHD people don't have the attention span (my cousin has ADHD) required.

Well, of course talk it over with a professional if you feel that you are losing touch with reality or losing the ability to think clearly. But have you ever tried writing? Maybe you have stories and creativity that are dying to come out. I have very long, intricate, detailed conversations with myself, too. It also started with me as a child, and I also tend to be aloof and prefer isolation. I do have some other mental issues that I'm getting treated for (depression, anxiety, and a personality disorder) and I am learning to live a functional successful life. Don't give up on yourself. Most great people are kind of weird. : )

day dreaming is totally normal, especially at 14. It is okay to envision yourself as being the center or attention or flirting w/ guys, because these are typically part of the main desires for adolecence. Day dreaming has no age limit, but it becomes more controlled as one gets older. This kind of fantasizing however, can become a problem when it takes over at times it shouldnt. Don't hold me to it, but it could be a form of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder). I would speak to you regular doctor about it, and perhaps they can recommend a psychologist if it is severe enough. Good luck

I talk to myself all the time. Act out scenarios. Sometimes i catch myself and hope no one saw me. I think it's funny. I did it too when i was younger a whole lot more than i do now. I'm 34. I just catch myself and laugh. You are not crazy. You just have better conversations with yourself than you do others. Try working on your self esteem. Force yourself to talk to people. Even if your words get jumbled. I mean what's the worst thing that will happen. Write a book.

you may just have a vivid imagination that is being wasted because you don't know which way to send it or use it...you need to stop 'thinking' out loud, which is what you are really doing, and just get into the habit of doing so, it can be overcome, I don't think you fantazise too much at all...try writing a book and see where it takes you...you just might be a proliphic writer in the making! Just use your skills in a positive manor.

It is called day dreaming. It is some kind of defence mechanism , not to face reality and achieve goals in imagination. It give you some satisfaction. But it waste your precious timeand by this way you ignore the realities of life, it leave you back in competition of life.
