You don't feel the same excitement, because as with each child, each pregnancy experience you have will be just as different. You will have a different kind of excitement with each pregnancy.
You will love each child equally, but their unique personalities make you love and appreciate them in soooo many different ways! Each individual and separate of the other.

Yes yes yes. I have three munchkins and I have found the excitement grew with each one. The first pregnancy I was a wreck, because I did not know what to expect. The last two were a breeze because all the worry was gone.
And love just grows and grows each time a new baby is born.

I feel the oldest child you have will always feel as if their monarchy in the family is the most regarded. The oldest (32) feels blessed I'm trying to get more out of him on this subject but that's he said that's it plain and simple. The twins (30) feel as if they are two completely different people. They are (fraternal) twins and very opposite. The youngest (27) is very independant and kind of gets out of the way of the first 2. I am the youngest and pretty much the same way with my family. Wait until you get grandchildren and you get to see life thru their eyes everyday is a fun day for them!

I cried and cried when I found out I was pregnant with my second child because I was so worried that I wouldn't have enough love for my second child... but when I saw her sweet little face my heart just melted.. What you feel is completely normal.. I thought that since I loved my son soooo much there was no way I could feel the same way about my little girl..... boy was I wrong. You will be fine and you will love them both the same.

You're asking two different questions. The answer to your first question depends on how you define "special." If you think every human being is special, the answer is yes. If you think that "special" means "the most unique and different experience," the answer is no.
I can't answer your second question as I've never had kids. But my guess is that most parents would admit that having the first child is the most exciting experience, as having the second child isn't a new experience.

Absolutely. I enjoy having four. And each child is truly special to me. I know them as individuals and as a family. I loved each bonding experience I had with them as babies.
