Soak the area in salt water. That will help your skin push it out a little. When it is sticking above the skin, take a tweezers and pull it right out. Then disinfect the area.

If possible, soak the area in hot water to soften and loosen the skin ... often the sliver will just slide out on its own if you apply pressure from the back end (deeper) part of the sliver towards the skin.

You could try to numb it with an ice cube first, but I just use hydrogen peroxide and a needle that has been cleaned in peroxide, too.
Gently lift up the skin where the splinter went in and then pull it out with your fingers or a pair of tweezers. Or apply pressure to it (at the base).

Apply Orajel or some product like that. It will numb it for you and then you can remove the slivers

If any part of it is sticking out, you can try putting Elmer's glue on it. Let the glue dry, then peel the glue off. Hopefully, the sliver will come out with it.
Good luck! :)

Use a piece of raw potato, pulling it backward across where the sliver is.

Duct tape, drawing salve, or if they're deeply imbedded, just grit your teeth and dig it out. The pain only lasts for a moment. Come on, my 5 year old can sit through a splinter picking without much complaining.

If the problem continue's you should go to an after hours clinic or your family doctor. They usualy have tools available to them to extract it correctly. My advice to you would be to stop using the tweezers, they are most likely pushing the splinter deeper.

I would go with the glue or the tape to remove slivers.
Works great!
