OK, lets be honest, the christian bible is somewhat sketchy about dinosaurs and to be frank, evolution is not a theory, it's a fact. God never said anything about the Tyrannosaurus going on the Ark two by two and still seems pretty quiet about the subject. He's also glossed over the whole neaderthal thing, but thats another story........

My questions is "what do other religions say about pre-historic events?" Dinosaurs, the ice age (both we know were real) and such like. I ask this because I have naff all knowledge of other religions and wondered what their take on it was.

As always, this isn't a dig, it's me trying to gather up some more knowledge. If anyone knows about dinosaurs mentioned in the bible please say so.

SSRVJ - good answer! The sort I was looking for.

I don't expect the bible to answer all my questions, but you'd kinda think god wouldn't forget something like dinosaurs now would you.

So the Quran/Bible/Torah has to tell you about everything!!! And if it did, you will say "Why doesn't religion tell us about future???"

You may find that other religions concurr with the "bible" in some respect, Like the Flood narrative, well that is the end of the last ice age and ensuing flood Noah From the Bereshyth (Genesis) and Utnapishtim from the Epic of Gilgamesh, are stories about the breaking of the black sea land bridge and the filling of that basin, both stories describe it in considerable detail. So Abrahimic Monotheism and Sumer concurr. they both seem to quote from an earlier (Probably Oral) narrative. the "Biblical flood" happened.
But not the way people seem to read it.

Most if not all religions both modern and primitive really don't get into the historical aspect with the exception of Mediterranean (Greek, Roman, Egyptian) and Scandinavian (Norse) mythology.

The age of dinosaurs existed millions of years before the appearance of mankind. After all, dinosaurs died off 65 million years ago after existing on earth for several million years.

The Incas, Mayas, and Aztec Indians had a their own ideas of history in relation to their respective religions.

If by "religion" you mean Christian, then it's one big happy argument.

Bible contains the history of the Adamic race which is about 6,000 years. The Bible is silent in the period from "In the beginning" in Genesis 1:1 to before the description of things in Genesis 1:2

Our religion (Hinduism) has no clash with Modern Science.Because the Religious texts(Vedham) revealed by GOD talks only about the Individual(Jeeva) and the UniversalParama) SOUL(Aathman-Vedhaantha) Science is not interested neither to prove nor disprove this.So we have no problems with Darwin -Galileo or even with most Modern scientists and their Theories.

Dinosaurs lived during the same time that people did. Scientists have found, in a dried up river bed, a fossil of man's footprint and that of a dinosaur in the same layer of sediment. Scientifically and biblicly, this satisfies us. Scientists have tangible proof, and creation is confirmed for Christians.

So much for mythical stories and characters of the various religions. Why not concentrate on the truth that Science offers.
