I was married in my Grandmother's garden. Legally, it was no different than being married in Church.

Just go to the City Hall, in your FMIL's town, & ask them what paperwork you need. They'll point you in the right direction.

The legalization of the wedding is the signing of the license. If the Vicar is ordained to perform marriages then there will be no problem. A wedding does not have to be in a church to be legal.

You can get married anywhere you want to...as long as you have a marriage license and a legal ordained minister, justice of the peace...someone who has the legal right to marry you then you are legally married.
It does not matter where...just the license and the person performing the services having the legal credentials to do so.

be cool...

your friend has to be ordained, but other than that, just the same basic marrige licence and stuff. It varies per state though, check with city hall.
