I think that since uranium is a limited resource, solar is the way to go. Also, the demand for it for reactors fuels the supply of depleted uranium used in weapons.

Yes, nuclear power is cheap, does not contribute to global warming, and is safe.

The US has been against Nuclear power ever since the partial meltdown of a reactor on Three Mile Island, was sensationalized by the media.

In fact three Mile Island, the worst civilian US nuclear accident, was an example of the safety of our Nuclear reactors. Indeed mistakes where made an a nuclear core partial melted down, but no one, not even a single worker, was sent to the hospital as a result.

Our reactor designs have become much better since that time. Also Chernobyl, can not happen in a US reactor since our reactor buildings are design to keep radiation in, rather than people out, that why they call the building the containment.
