the question is what does God say to the people who walk past the poor man who is hungry.

My dear friend, life in general is not fair.
The ten commandments clearly say that "thou shalt not steal" and that includes food.
God says that we should look to the birds they don't work or toil but He provides for them, how much more will He provide for us, men of little faith.
It is true the rich is getting richer and the poor, poorer, but you know I rather have Jesus than silver or gold.
The Lord also says that if we have a roof over our head, some food in the cupboard for today, look what happened to the Israelites when God said that they should not pick up more manna than which is necessary for that day, it got spoiled.
So my advice is you don't need to see a grocery cupboard full of food be grateful for what you have, there is always somebody worst off than you.
In God's eyes sin is sin whether it is stealing of diamonds or food.
Take care
Suz

If the poor man returns what he 'borrowed', then fine.
Otherwise, it's stealing.
Your words--"And whats so fair about a world where the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer?"
Just who believes that?
Anyway, the Bible promises a perfect life on earth for the meek that inherit it. I look forward to that.

Not a lot fair in Life, !!!!!!!!!!!! Take the cards your dealt and do the best you can with them. As far as stealing, I'm sure a poor man trying to feed his children could get help, He should have gotten a job and bought the bread, if he was down on his luck , there is always government assistance, or churches ,friends, and family could help

Who said life would always be fair? No one, not even God. Life is rarely fair. God doesn't want us to steal. If we let Him he will provide for us. If we fellowship with others God will use them to help us and feed us. Stealing is taking matters into our own hands and refusing the help that is available to us. I know this because I've been there and had to face the reality of empty cupboards and no money or food. Funny, I've never gone hungry and never had to steal.

1. Can you define the word "perfect" or you use it as it comes out? 2. Define 'murder' and then 'killing', you'll see it's not the same and one has the authority of justice (a person murder your mother when you are strapped to a chair. You CAN kill him. That's is the case with people judged by God.) 3. The word used is not 'day'; it is only translated as day. It means period, each one of more than 6000 years, probably. 4. He did not "steal" land for His people. He eliminated 'giborim', giants with a different DNA (check "balbec" in Youtube, internet) that had contaminated the earth; these people were sacrificing their children into the fire to their god moloch. You must read and learn before criticising. 5. Image AND likeness. He is not narcissist to like seeing Himself in us. I suggest you learn what that means, by reading. 6. In this case the vase tells the potter why you made me this way? We were made with ONE mouth and TWO ears, that means we must listen double as we speak.

As other people have said, life isn't fair and God never said it would be. I believe in the good in people and there are plenty who would help a poor man so he wouldn't have to steal for food. Any church would help; most have food banks or kitchens, missions that bring supplies to people in need. We just need more people willing to give of their time and money.
God Bless.

So, you think it's okay to steal if you are poor? If that's the case, we're going to have all-out anarchy.
There are many resources for the poor, both public and private. If you need some in your area, go to your local church or Salvation Army and ask.

In such cases, the Bible would side with the poor man, who is providing for his family. As to the state of the world, the Bible commands explicitly that the poor, the orphans, and the widows be supported.

Read the law. It says what He says about that. Fairness is not spoken of in the Bible, except to Christians, in regard to equal treatment of both rich and poor.

Fairness does not matter in this world. Most good christians believe in faith and values... they have faith they will increase their value at others expense. Seriously, look at what the bible says and how most christians pursue their greed for money. There is no religion of this world that knows the REAL god (if there is one). The book is here to give some hope in the good peasants that the wealthy can take advantage of. After all, you'll be rewarded in the next life (yeah, right!).
