How do I get highlighted text to print as highlighted? On the screen it's highlighted but not when printed. I looked through preferences but couldn't find the answer.

Friend,
You can try this idea once:
Open your PDF file>Click on CROP tool (you find left side of the link tool>Now Select your Desired Text or area>Hit enter (on key board)>Click on ok (on Crop pages; do nothing just click on ok)
Now go to print( file>print )or (Ctrl+P) and select Current page in print range pane>Click on ok.
You are done now.
Because in acrobat, you don't find Selection option in print range, generally you find in other programs.
Best of Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Acrobat, highlight the text using the Text Icon (T), it will turn grey.

Then, hit Ctrl+P, and choose Selected in the Print Range pane.

Printing will not show the highlighting you see on your screen. Printers are not equipped to see that. And if you are using Adobe Reader, you can only print what you see, whether it's highlighted or not.
