I make yogurt cheese. I take plain mediterranean yogurt (Fage is a popular brand), line a strainer with a few layers of cheesecloth or paper towel and dump the plain yogurt into it and let it sit in the refrigerator over a bowl for a few hours or overnight. The excess liquid will drip down into the bowl and in the strainer you will have a creamy, healthier alternative to cream cheese.

You can spread it on plain or add other flavourings to it like onions, garlic, roasted peppers, etc. Anything they mix into cream cheese can be mixed into yogurt cheese.

Toast a plain bagel until crispy and brown on the outside and lightly toasted and soft on the inside. Spread thickly with Nutella (choco hazelnut spread). Or honey would work. The best cream cheeses are Pennslyvania Honey & Nut on top of plain, sesame seed or honeywheat bagels. Another good combo is a thin layer of butter on top of a toasted bagel, followed by a thick creamy layer of Pennslyvania Double Whipped Plain and finish it by squirted honey over the cream cheese. For kids, used colored choco sprinkles on top of Double Whipped Plain.

An alternative to dairy cream cheese is Toffuti, a soy based product that is so much like cream cheese in flavor and texture you won't be able to tell the difference. Look for it next to the refridgerated soy milk in your local market.

Try hummus on a sesame bagel. It's delish! I also like mine warmed with a slice of munster cheese. I have also spread a warm bagel with Nutella. YUMMY! Although anything with Nutella on it is good. Generally I used low fat Philadelphia brand cream cheese. I don't like the no fat, but I can't tell the difference with the no fat.

Bagels are so "doughy" I think they need something on them. Personally, I like cream cheese. Olive & pimiento cream cheese is the best!

Pizza sauce w/ mozzerella cheese is good, and ham or turkey with a slice of american cheese is also good. I also like toasted bagels with peach preserves, or apple butter.

Hamburger patty, topped w/shredded cheese.
Or just shredded cheese.
Or apple butter.
Or a thick tomato slice garnished w/olive oil, coarse salt, fresh-ground black pepper, and a sprig of basil.
Or jelly.
Or jam.
Or fish (traditional thin-cut salmon or other canned filets).
Or an egg over hard.
I could go on all day.
Then there's avocado (goes good with fish).
Or liverwurst w/tomato, avocado, and red onion.

how about muenster cheese with a slice of tomato and a little salt and pepper? If you have a sweet bagel, try some honey.
