My neighbor lets his dog crap all over his yard, all down the sides of his house and all over the front yard and backyard. He never cleans it up, it's disqusting. I can't even look out my window and enjoy the view because of all the brown piles all over the grass. Its been this way for about 6 months now.
What can I do about this? We never talk to each other, we dont dislike each other , we just are private people. When people walk dogs in our neighborhood they carry a bag and clean up their dog's crap right after it goes. So why should my neighbor be allowed to let his dog crap all over his lawn where I gotta look at everytime I look at it? How do I tell himm without getting punched out or worse?

You can't really do anything. It's HIS house and HIS lawn. He can do whatever he likes to it.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing comes right along with home ownership. Unless your neighbor is renting or if you live in a neighborhood that has rules about these sorts of things, you're totally out of luck. If you live in a neighborhood that has a "committee" or something like that, try asking them. A lot of those types of neighborhoods will have a rule that states something along the lines of what you are allowed to have visible in your yard. However, if you don't have any book of rules or ordinances, you probably can't do anything about it. If the person is renting, you can certainly contact the landlord.

I don't know if calling the police will help, but you could try it. You could try to say that the smell is bad and it creates "unfit living conditions" for either the pet or the owner... but again, all of these things will only work in some situations.

This is a serious matter especially in increasingly crowded areas. You are not alone.

Check with your homeowners association, town clerk or council representative about covenants and ordinances concerning care of lawns. These are usually called "weed ordinances" or "maintaining a public nuisance." These kinds of ordinances are put into place to keep people from letting their lawns/yards go to pot because of the vermin they attract. Perhaps that can be used to force your neighbor to clean up his lawn because of disease carrying flies - not to mention the smell.

Be prepared to bring suit against your untidy neighbor. It may take that to bring him into compliance.

Insofar as looking bad? Well, yes, a yard full of dog waste is pretty darned unsightly - but unless there's an ordinance or covenant, there may not be much you can do about it.

Bear in mind, new housing developments may be subject to old laws - and while you are more than justifiably annoyed with neighbor's untidy habits, there may not be a lot you can do/say about it unless you wish to bring suit for decreasing your home's value.

What do your other neighbors say - and would they be willing to join a suit/petition to force your neighbor to clean up his yard?

You say you're a private person - well, those days are over, buddy. Which do you value more? your "privacy" or your view?

i easily do no longer think of there is plenty you're able to do. I easily have the same issue. I stay in an extremely rural area of city on approximately an acre. On 3 facets of my domicile there is no longer something yet land and a river view, very beautiful. on the fourth component is a fenced in area the place my neighbor shall we her canines run, precise exterior window over my kitchen sink. The canines have taken to going precise exterior my window and barking at me every time i'm on the sink. wintry climate time is very confusing because it contraptions on suited of snow. no longer something i will do even with the undeniable fact that, this is her backyard. some human beings do only no longer use uncomplicated experience or think of approximately others. you are able to only think of what the in the domicile sounds like in the event that they're that lazy.

Put an anonymous typed note in his mail box from "your appreciative neighbors"
Use nice words so he doesn't get angry but get the point across. You could mention the smell, the flies, and the health hazard to the other dogs in the neighborhood
Keep it simple - maybe he'll get a clue! I think you'll be doing EVERYONE in the neighborhood a favor.
That is truly disgusting and not fair to others.

clean it up for him, and throw it all over his porch and (wear gloves) rub it all over his door handle, and in the middle of the night put some under his seats in his car and all over underneath his door handles, he'll never leave dog crap in the yard again, and if he does, lay low and let it build up again, then do it again!!!! if you cant handle playing with crap then thats stupid, it wont hurt you unless you eat it, and you can shower when your done, make sure you throw away your gloves and clean off your shovel or whatever you use to pick it all up and get it in a pile, also, night before or night of garbage night would be the best time, in case he calls the police, you dont want them finding poopy glove in your garbage, unless you have a dog too, then your clear

It's his house and his lawn. He owns it and pays the taxes on it. As long as the dog doesn't crap on your lawn then what are you worried about? You might have to look at it, but at least you don't have to live in it.

There is nothing you can do. It's his property and his dog. If that's the only problem you have you are lucky. It could be worse. The dog could be chained up outside and bark all hours of the night. Just don't look at his property.

This isn't just a lazy neighbor at this point, this is a health issue. Try asking him nicely one time. Then call the health department. There are usually ordinances about cleaning up dog/cat feces.

It is his property and thus his problem what is on his lawn. If you really have that big of a problem with it go over there and clean it up yourself.

You need to close your eyes or move. It's his dog, his property. If it bothers you so much, then offer to clean it up for him. Never judge a person until you walk in his shoes.... or in his dog's droppings.
