Go to the thrift store and pick out a used wedding dress. This is the basis of the costume. Get one without a train, it's easier to wear on stage. If all you can find is a dress with a train - cut it off so you won't be dragging it around.

Go to the fabric store and buy something called Buckram - a stiff fabric-like stuff that hats are made out of. Buy enough of this - and some cheap acetate to make a tall crown.

Buy a WHOLE lot of gold trimming - you can use gold Christmas tree garland if you can find it.

Also buy a 1/4" dowel and some gold spray paint to make the wand.

You'll also need some corrugated cardboard for the star on the wand.
Glue - with a glue gun - the trimming around the hem, waistline, collar and sleeves of the wedding dress.

Make a tall crown (like the one in the movie) out of the buckram and cover it with the acetate - use a glue gun again.
Then glue the gold trimming around the edges of the crown.

You may need to use an elastic strap to keep the crown on.

Cut a Star out of some corrugated cardboard and staple or glue it to the 1/4" dowel. Spray pain the whole thing with the gold paint. Glue trimming around the star - both sides if you can.

Voila

Break a leg

Go to a fabric store and get lots of pink tulle. Tuck it under a belt to create a fluffy dress apperance and put some glitter on it. You could make a high crown out of Tin Foil. Make a wand from a long stick (Antenna, wooden spoon handle, etc and cut out a cardboard star, foil it and attach to stick. This should be good in a pinch.
