Okay, first of all, the bible calls homosexuality an abomination, there isn't much room for differing interpretations there. Abominations are bad and always have been bad. Now, This Phelps guy and his followers are a bunch of *******, and if I see him or his supporters I will start the beatings. Yes, it is a sin, but God also says to love the sinner but hate the sin. Phelps spews hate, and has no love for anyone but himself and the money he collects from his bigot brothers.

This is people gone off the deep end and taking it upon them selves to "in their mind" point out the direction of the world and throw out warning smack.
What is really happening is you get a hateful message not done out of love and promotes what is not of peace. The devil works inside of church also and spoils a batch just like a rotten apple.
So you see it is very hard for a Christian to have a message of a beautiful and loving God with all this type of propaganda. The devil just laughs at the turmoil he can cause for God's positive message.
The path is narrow and they have fallen off the deep end.

Oh my.......oh my.....oh my....
Used your link, and read as much as I could before I had to stop!
The scriptures they used are truly written.
My great-grandfather was a fire and brimstone preacher whom may have accepted their hate speech...maybe...but, as a Spirit filled Christian, I am appalled by the WAY this particular church is spreading their seeds of HATRED!
I do not agree with the WAY this church is speaking and practicing!
Love the sinner, hate the sin, yes.....love them and pray for them, yes....
.....but, hate mongering is a sin in itself....
....and forgive me Father, but, isn't this type of behavior more apt to push away not only the person they are attacking, but, their families and friends, etc.,.?
Boldness in the Lord is a true Gift...but what I saw on those web pages was not the way of Jesus.
What I had just read makes me want to cry in despair....litterally....

We don't have to explain ourselves to you or anyone else. The reason why we don't have to do that is because not all of us share the gospel that way. Not all of us believe that God hates homosexuals, and not all of us would call them rude names. Everyone has sinned and fallen short of the standard of perfection God has set. Everyone is subject to the same punishment. The Bible says that homosexuality is an abomination. That fact will not change. But there is a way to convey the gospel in God's way. The way of love.

Why should I have to explain myself to you when I am not part of this church or have any affiliation with them? Why is it that you assume all Christians will agree with someone who has no concept of God's love? What makes you believe all Christians believe this way? Is this written on every Christian site on the internet? Is it preached in every congregation in the world? Or is it one case that you point out to make all Chrisitans look bad?

Don't paint with such a broad brush. While their methods are regrettable and embarrassing, it does not change the fact that homosexuality is not pleasing to God. However, the message that Jesus taught was love the sinner, hate the sin. Jesus did not come to save the righteous, He came to find and save the lost.

There are fundamentalists to every religion. There are even fundamentalist/evangelical atheists.
Don't ask the majority of Christians to explain a small fundamentalist faction thinks/ is doing. It's like asking men why they insist on raping women - when really, it's a very small minority of men doing such things.

People with free will and misconceptions about what God really wants. It is extremely easy these days to get off the right road and on the broad path that leads to death and destruction. But please do not judge God according to the misconceptions of deceived individuals.Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

There's no way that the Roper's reflect all of Christianity. They're just extremely confused people, completely seperated from the rest of the world.
