Muslim men are so weak, that the whole world must be changed to accommodate their weaknesses and insecurities.
Why must woman be covered like furniture...cause weak muslim men might be tempted to savagely rape her otherwise.
Why must every journalist and cartoonist be very careful about what they write...because muslim men have thin skins and demand everyone else conform to their delicate self righteous sensiblities.
Why must jihad persist...not just the quran commands muslims to committ genocide, but because unless all freedom of choice is taken away from all, weak weak muslims could be tempted by the normal free socities of the civilized world.

Praise be to Allah who established Islam and made it easy for those who approach it and gave strength to its columns against any one who tries to overpower it. So Allah made it (a source of) peace for him who clings to it, safety for him who enters it, argument for him who speaks about it, witness for him who fights with its help, light for him who seeks light from it, understanding for him who provides it, sagacity for him who exerts, a sign (of guidance) for him who perceives, sight for him who resolves, lesson for him who seeks advice, salvation for him who testifies, confidence for him who trusts, pleasure for him who entrusts, and shield for him who endures.
It is the most bright of all paths, the clearest of all passages. It has dignified minarets, bright highways, burning laps, prestigious field of activity, and high objective. It has a collection of race horses. It is approached eagerly. Its riders are honourable. Testimony (of Allah, Prophet etc.) is its way, good deeds are its minarets, death is its extremity, this world is its race-course, the Day of Judgement is its horses and Paradise is its point of approach.

First off, Shukran to Muhammad....very nicely said brother.
As a muslim woman, and a convert at that who covers herself, I know that we sisters DO NOT wear hijab or niqab b/c of the weakness of muslim men. We do it b/c Allah SWT has commanded us. "Oh you who believe! Tell you women to draw their veils around them, and lower their gaze and guard their chasitity." And muslim men hold women in utmost respect. The Prophet (saws) says that paradise is beneath the feet of the mothers.
And why must every journalist/cartoonist be careful about poking fun of Islam?? The same reason they have to be careful about poking fun of jesus. People who believe strongly get HEATED. And we as muslims are taught to love the Prophet(saws) and Alllah SWT more than life its self. So, of course we will get angry when someone makes fun of what we love and hold dear. Christitans and Jews....perhaps they feel OK letting someone degrade their religion, but not I or any muslim will feel this way about insulting out Deen.
And Jihad means 'struggle', in arabic literally. This life is Jihad for us. And the Qu'ran CONDEMNS forcing people to convert by means of violence. And we have freedom of choice. I can choose wether to cover or dress 'normal', and I can choose to do 'normal' things, or I can worry about getting closer to Allah SWT.
The real question should be, "Why are some people so ignorant?"

Were discussing 1.3 billion people here. You gotta stop making such far fetched generalizations.
A much needed explanation for women covering in the Quran:
Every single verse of the Quran was given to Muhammad for a reason.
The one that speaks about women covering their heads has to do with an incident where a woman was seen covering her head and face, but revealing her bosom.
The fact was, that Arab tribes had developed a self defense mechanism, to protect their reputation by asking their wives to cover their faces. So in the event that the wife had made a mistake, like flirted with someone, it wouldnt be known which tribe she was from.
But inspite of the social norm to cover their faces, they used to leave their cleavage out in the open, as that had developed into a sign of royalty.
Basically, much of the things they were doing were against common sense.
So the verse came, that men should ask their women to cover their heads and bosoms along with it, and that was better for them in the eyes of God.
No where in the Quran do we see women being sent to hell on account of not covering tho.
The idea of modesty and the ethics of dressing up without show or extravagance was laid down by the Quran.
As women are not the only people who are bound to certain rules of dressing up. Men are also bound to rules, and they are not allowed to wear silk and gold.
So the rules go for both parties and not just women my dear.
Read and be informed. Itll give you power, and would make the discussing a little more interesting.

the things you are saying is showing so much ignorance to other cultures, its unbelievable. and the worst thing is that the first 2 answers are a complete waste of time, its shows people who are uneducated like yourself.
its not just muslim men who are weak, this goes for all men. all men have weaknesses, some more than others, nobody is born perfect. so dont talk just about muslim men in that way, you are clearly displaying rascist thoughts.
muslim women are covering themselves so that they wont be seen as sexual obhects by all MEN, that includes you. and not all muslim men want to rape women, look at statistics for the western countries in relation to rape, you will see most of them are not muslim at all. so look around before you make such irrational judgements about others.
about journalists and cartoonists. number one: every person has a right to object something that is drawn if it is extremely insulting to somebodys culture and beliefs. im sure plenty of christians wouldnt be too happy to see pictures of Jesus engaging in homosexual activity for example. number two: yes there are some muslim men who mis interpret the teachings of the Quraan and expect everybody to conform to thier way of life, but believe it or not most men couldnt care less whether you or anyone else is not a muslim.
they are more concerned with trying to make themselves better people than try to convert you.
jihad means holy war, fighting in defence of your religion. are you telling me that our world is so civilised that the US should attack Iraq and continue to wage war there? explain to me how civilised this society is? our society is so civilised that there are gang shootings, child molestation, and recently child kidnapping?! Muslim men aren't the only ones who might rape...If you open ur eyes u'll see that there are more cases of rape and sexual assaults in the west because of how you guys dress..you think showing skin is going to protect u from sexual predators...how stupid and ignorant are you. Don't throw stones when your own house is made of glass. and Muslim women cover by choice...I'm muslim and no one in my family has their head covered..we're pretty liberal but that doenst make us any less of Muslims and that doesnt mean i walk around in a bikini tempting men.
