maybe you could elaborate on your question. but, no matter how many pay cheques come, there is still only one parent. a cheque doesnt replace the other parents presence.

I don't know about you, but two pay checks in my house isn't enough to make it with the child that I have and the one that's on the way...PARENTING has a lot more to do than money. You need financial support, yes, but when you have a husband that comes home, lays on the couch and watches sports all day long and all weekend long and doesn't help out, it can get stressful. Especially if you work a 40 hour job and then have to come home to more work. If he was to help around the house it would cut the work in half and you would be able to enjoy the kids and your husband. I was a single parent before...I still feel like a single parent now and the money has nothing to do with it!!!

Well, when we have to take care of the kids every need, clean the house, cook the dinners every night, serve hubby while h e sits on big but in front of tv, then get the kids ready for bed, get them in bed and run errands every day. When all he does is work 8 hours. Then he comes home and sits on his but without lifting a finger to help. Don't give me this crap he's tired, he's worked all day. So have I! I went to work. fBefore work Had to get the kids up, dressed, bathed and ready for school. Then work. Then lunch break is filled with timed errands not lunch. He sits in a restaurant with friends at lunch for an hour everyday. Then rush home to meet the kids off of the bus, homework, dinner, etc. He does none of that. That is why some of us say we are single with 2 checks. There are some men, few, that do contribute more than 8 hours at work. To those men I say good job. To those men I say you have a very devoted wife. Keep up the good work. To those like mine-enjoy what you have while have it-it won't be there long.

what does parenting have o do with 2 pay checks? When the statement is made 'I am a single parent' it means that there is only one person in the household that is responsible for the everyday parenting of the child...it is most certainly not about the money, parenting is WAY more than that

i think what answer you are looking for is women do most of the work when it comes to raising children. there's more to raising children than just "2 pay checks". i'm a stay at home mom and i do it all. i commend those mothers who work outside then come home and have to work again.
it's exhausting, whether it's one child or more.
i have 3, and i'm about to die!

okay when you come home and then end up taking care of the kids feeding them giving them a bath tucking them in to bed and cleaning up after them, then going and cleaning everything else up before you get to hop in the shower and relax I think you would probably feel that way as well.

I am a single parent with one paycheck so what are you talking about?

Um........ because the child has two parents? You make a child, you look after it in all ways that you can whether you live with them or not.

not sure what your asking but parenting involves WAY more than just a paycheck...

Because the kid is just a paycheck to them. Thats all they want.
