First answer popping up to me for writing was "because there is most stupid people among English speakers" but suddenly I've started thinking how many words we have in Italian, my mother tongue, and I've got :
stupido, cretino, idiota, deficiente, ritardato, ottuso, scemo, sciocco, stolto, duro, tonto, poco intelligente, lento, ebete, insensato, babbeo, scriteriato, insulso, balordo, stolido, scimunito, imbecille, ect.

Since I don't want tell you that we have so many words "because there is most stupid people among Italian speakers" I would instead say that any language has a lot of words to call someone stupid to let him clearly understand which is exactly his level of stupidity. When we call somebody idiot he should know immediately being more stupid as a moron...!!

i love the note stupid, possibly because me and my friends use it a lot to describe the most petty issues that it has lost any form of insult like intending to me. I dislike the C note with a interest, yet I even ought to trust yet another poster and say that the note ‘nice’ is one in each and every of the most dull note contained in the entire English language.

Because stupid people do not understand simple stupid things. They need more explanations and words to make them prove their stupidity.
