Can anyone recommend a good book?

Im interested in the history and theories of Christianity. Also like to read about the Templars.
Looking for non-fiction, but I also enjoy a good fiction one as well.

Thanks!

Misquoting Jesus, by Bart Erhman. History of the early Church from a scriptural point of view, deconstructing what was added or subtracted from the Bible to show what historical conflicts were going on in the Church and outside it. Very interesting read, very telling about how the modern day Christianity came to be so much different than that of the Early days.

Try www.Templarhistory.com. There is also a mystery writer (wish I could remember his name) who has done a whole series of really interesting mysteries involving an ex-Templar as a detective. I think there are at least a dozen books in the series now, but I sold my copies when I moved recently. His name might be Jenks. Anyway, he includes quite a lot of Templar history in the stories, and also in background information in the introductions.

As for other Christian history, I would start from Wikipedia and work my way outward. After all, a significant portion of all history is Christian, in that the Catholic church dominated the world for a very long time.

But don't forget Dan Brown. There's a lot of important history mixed in with the fiction in his works.

The Scriptures will tell you everything you need to know from the beginning up until the end. A Templar is a knight of a religious military order established in the early 12th century in Jerusalem for the protection of Pilgrims and the Holy Sepulcher.

don't read dan brown, he's a FICTION writer. I know!
Those who argue against dan brown assumes that he doesn't wrtie FICTION, and all of their logic holds that assumption. One thing stands in their way, the word FICTION on the COVER OF ZEE BOOK!

Read anything you can by Lee Strobel. Outstanding subject matter from an investigative court reporter, and former atheist.

Hi,
Graham Hancock: Supernatural. It is about natural life philosophy and practices. The way together with nature to the dimension that we call God.

The Devil, A biography.

Is a very objective study of the devil from his initial conception thru to his current incarnation. More of an anthropological treatsie than anything else.
