If you work in the health care weekends, nights and evening shifts get what is called a shift differential . I wish it were time and a half ,but usually it is say for a nurse maybe a dollar and hour more an hour . For nights and a smaller percentage for eves. and weekends may or may not depending on your contract. Some places consider the weekend your regular hours of scheduled work so you don't get anything extra or it is all ready figured into your salary when hired.

I would suggest you check with others in the home care setting in your area and see what is 'general accepted practice' as to pay. Competition is usually so great that all companies must remain fairly equal to stay in business.
I have never worked this area, I only worked staff nurse in hospitals. There we were paid shift differentials for evening, nights and weekend. I don't remember what they were, but evening was maybe 75 cents/hr, nights 1.25-1.50/hr and weekend added an additional 1.00/hr or so.

An employer is obliged to pay time and a half only when for hours over forty worked in a week. Holidays, evenings and weekends are not eligible for *mandated* time and a half, however if that is what you and your employer worked out up front, then you would be entitled to it.

sounds like overtime and construction workers by contract get time and a half for working nights or weekends.

If it's not your normal scheduled day, they should be offering you more money for the weekends. If you were hired for weekends, then you really can't expect it.
