you need to take your time to decide which ones you really want, i had a small fairy on my shoulder and it took me months to decide that was what i wanted and i now regret it. I wanted another straight away too but i left it for a few years, now i have my husbands name tattooed on my wrist (moment of madness) which i'm sure i'll end up regreting one day!!! I'm very lucky that mine are small and it wouldnt take much to get them tattooed over - the bigger they are the more carefully they need to be selected

Give it more then a month before you get back in the chair. I got my first on March 13 and by the next week I was ready to do it again. I thought of a million ideas and placement and everything and then I decided to slow down because I don't want any regrets. I went back in the shop last Monday and had my touch up done, that helps feed the ink addiction for a bit. But think about how hard it's going to be to resist the sun and swimming for another month. I decided summer is a bad time for me to get any new babies so I'm anxiously waiting a few more months.

I am 27 and have sevan tats. I just got my left sleeve started this month and I'm already planning out my others. You are becoming a collector of living art, and if you know what you really want and can afford it I say go for it! They will be special to you because regardless of when you get them you will still have them on you forever. I once got a tat one day then the next day got another. No time is too short!

it's not tacky to get tattoos quickly it's tacky to get poorly done tacky tattoos. i have gotten my last few tattoos somewhat quickly. i think the closest together was one large piece being finished and two weeks later getting a new one. as long as you know what you want and it is something of substance there should be no problem. however, if you are walking into the shop and picking a picture off the wall just so you can get a tattoo then you probably will end up regretting it in the long run.

Unless you have a couple thousand bucks to spend on an autoclave, you cannot properly sterilize anything. Rubbing things down with alcohol is not "sterilizing." It doesn't get rid of the bacteria that are truly dangerous (like Hepetitis, or HIV). Setting it over a flame (contrary to popular belief) actually makes it even dirtier, since a flame that you have the means to produce just isn't that hot. Not only that, but india ink is not proper tattoo ink, and so it will not hold up very well over time. It will wind up looking like crap. And finally, it takes years of practice to learn to tattoo properly. What makes you think you can learn it by surfing Google? If you love her at all, you will tell her to go to a professional instead of letting a complete novice with no idea what he's doing at all hack at her skin.

I know what you mean, getting tattooed is an experience you can't really replicate in any other way, and while I can understand why you're anxious to do it again, I agree that you're possibly going a little too fast. But what you should do is take time every day to appreciate the ones you've already got. If you do that, that might help you resist the temptation that exists to get another until you're absolutely ready for it.

Get what you want when you want it. Just make damn sure you aren't going to have buyer's regret. There isn't an easy return tag for this, and the cost of removal could easily put a nice downpayment on a car. I have friends who have gone overboard and has cost them in their professional careers. I suggest that what you get and where is easily covered by at least a polo. Getting sleeves done is really cool, but if you are in a professional enviroment it might not work so well. Good luck!

Ya.. Don't get them 2 quickly! It's not tacky, but then u may want more n more.. Think, is the tattoo going 2 have ANY symbolic meaning? Or r u just getting it cuz it looks cool? Either way, I think u should reconsider. Unless it rlly means a lot 2 u, I don't think that u should get it.

Oh my gosh, I can totally answer this one! I've been getting tat'd montly for over a year now. I'm totally addicted. I think about my next one right after I get done with one, then I wait a month and go back again. Sometimes I get more than one at one time - if it's a small one. I even start out small and then go back and get more added to the same one. I love it. What a freakin' rush. I don't want to ever stop. I love getting them and I love what I have when it's all over.

No its not tacky but I think initally you should take your time....this is all new fresh and exciting (and yes I know EXACTLY the sensation you're describing). Tattoos should be well thought out, not that they all have to have the secret of your life symbolized within them but you shouldn't walk into the shop point at the wall and go "slap that one on me" Look, look, look at as many tattoos as you can. Educate and inform yourself and develop your tastes. Then go with custom professional work. Good luck and have fun
