No. I should correct you that Jesus was not the mother of God. She was the mother of Jesus, which is one person of the trinity.
No where in the Bible, that I know of, are single mothers condemned. There are many women that are widows (which are to be honored) and are single mothers. There are women which are the innocent party in a divorce, which have no guilt.
If we are talking about unwed pregnancy, then what is condemned is the act of sex out of wed-lock. However this should not be taken out on the mother, after she has repented of this sin.

Mary was married to Joseph when Jesus was born. She was not married to him when she conceived Jesus.
Hopefully most Christians or any one else do not condemn unmarried mothers. Thank God they are not having an abortion and deserve all the help we can give them.

Actually she was married the time she had Jesus and I can't honestly remember the last time if ever I heard a Christian condemn single mothers. Are you stated what you know or what some atheist told you?

Its obvious that your not asking a question but making a statement.I do think that we as Christians need to be careful how we view unwed mothers. We are opposed to abortion yet look down on these mothers when really they may very well be trying to do the right thing and should be receiving our help instead of our criticism.

Don't be foolish. Christ's own mother was engaged, not yet married, and a virgin at the time of immaculate conception, and had to be for the Christ-child to be born pure. That doesn't mean that people going out and having sex before marriage is all right - in fact, it would be contradictory. Sex before marriage is not what Mary, mother of God did, and it is what's forbidden, not having children out of wedlock.
However, it's pretty damned impossible these days to give birth to a child without having sex. To "do what they did" as you put it, one would have to conceive said child without having sex at all - aka, have a child of god's.

1. I don't condemn anyone. However, sex before marriage is a sin.
2. Assuming the story is true, Mary was still a virgin when she became pregnant. Therefore, unless women are still able to conceive while still being a virgin, what happened to Mary was a completely different thing.
Nice try.

Whose condemning single moms? I seriously would like to know because it flies in the face of the gospel. Christ said to love and care for widows and orphans (some translations use "fatherless"), so to condemn single/unwed mothers is a very un-Christ-like act.

well..they don't condemn..but ..it is a requirement in the morality of God.that if you have a child ..you also must have a husband..and only if it happens something bad..that is not under the control of the mother..the mother should be single with her child..only in this situation..so i think..that women would better watch out..to whom they sleep and to whom they give children...it is not a hapiness..to have a child ..without his father..so this stigmant over the single mothers..should determine the women to choose bettter to whom they sleep..because that man could be the father of their child...

There is a huge difference. Mary although not married did not have sex. We don't look down on single mothers trust me i have plenty of friends who are through no fault of their own but it says in the bible that you should not have sex outside marriage,

It shouldn't matter anyway.
The admonitions in the Bible about children obeying and honouring their parents do not mention anything about parents needing to be married. Marriage is a big step. There is no reason for anybody to need to get married just for the look of it because there are kids.
