Well I'm not religious or anything but everyone has different tastes and I think if YOU think you would like the way it would look then go for it! Who cares what anyone else thinks - it's what you like that counts.
Personally I think it sounds like a very original and creative idea :)

The pages of an old Bible would be very thin and fragile, you'd have a tough time. But at least you'd have something to read before you went to bed each night.

If its the bathroom, certainly. It is always good to have something to read whilst taking a crap, and you wouldn't have to read the back of shampoo bottles.
