i took my sub out of the ported box and i noticed that in the box it had the pos and neg wires,,but they were small speaker wires,,,im using 4 gauge wires from wiring kit,,,it hooks up to the outside of the box,,,,,,,,just wondering shud i use 4 guage wires inside the box to wer it hooks up to da subs...or is it supose to b lik dat,,,if u get me at all???

The speakers wires inside the box are relatively short so there's no need to replace them with a 4 gauge. The size of the wire is also dependent of its lenght.

Using 4-gauge wire for speaker wiring doesn't serve any useful purpose; it's overkill. Unless you have an EXTREMELY high power system, 12-gauge speaker wiring is ample. Upgrading to 4-gauge wire won't hurt anything, but it won't help anything either.

kz is right........12 gauge is a good size for speaker wire going from your amp to the box then from the box to the sub
