I try to keep a smile on my lips, and keep the conversation going. I am very hospitable and would probably be doting on them constantly.

A warm smile to greet your guests from a heart that is genuinely pleased to see them.

Then offer them a coffee or tea.

By giving positive signals to them by conversation, and body language, that they are welcome in your home.

As for a meal - finding out before hand what their favourite food is, and making a positive effort to do your best to make the meal enjoyable.

Hope this helps

Meal------give them the better seating position.

Visit your home------give them clean sheets etc, drinking water for the night, stock the bathroom with toilet paper, bath towel and tooth paste.

We seem to have the exact opposite problem, how do you make people feel really unwelcome. Sometimes too many visitors when we would just like to be alone. No one wants to leave.

Look them in the eye, smile genuinely, and say, "I'm so glad you're here"...hold the eye contact that extra millisecond longer than usual

I'll prepare my place , and give the best for that person, from the basic food, accomodation, supplies, and of course give him/her my full attention, time and make her feel how grateful I am that he/she comes.

I greet them with smiles and actually listen to their conversation. I show them that I care about their comfort.

Be yourself, if you are comfortable then people will feel comfortable around you. Make it a special occassion by making something nice, even if it's just a nice coffee- makes your guests feel appreciated.
