These are all questions the doctor should have answered when she was diagnosed.
Best for her to go back for more info from a qualified doctor.

sure it can be passed. go get the hep b series of vaccines. it is 3 shots over several months. not a big thing at all if you don't mind needles. then 6 months after your last shot, have a titer drawn to see if the vaccine "took". if it did, you're good to go. if not, have the series done again. both of you need to have it done though even if he doesn't test positive right now. it will do no harm to have it done. most people have it done as a precaution anyway.

the boyfriend will definitely get the virus. hep b virus is found in all body fluids so it can be transmitted sexually and parenterally (IV, injections, blood transfusions). How long ago did they had sexual contact? usually, both of them should get the immune globulin shot (after exposure) and the 3 dose hep b vaccine (prophylaxis-prevention and also after exposure)... i dont understand why she wouldnt let the boyfriend know.. do you want him to get liver failure or cancer or to die??? hep b is a very serious disease, very infectious and all of you should take precaution to prevent transmission.

there is no cure for hep b, or any of the heps. the vaccine will protect someone from getting it, but it will not help someone who already has it. your friend needs to tell her boyfriend and have him get tested.

vaccines work if you have them before contact to make your body immune to the virus.Vaccines in general are for prevention and not for treatment.
