I'm not a company or anything so there might be restrictions on where I can by such things (ie trade counters) but where might I buy just the odd one or two? I'm after thrust bearings if that makes any difference.

Presuming you mean ball or roller bearings (because there are plain thrust bearings) suggest you look up F.A.G., TIMKEN and SKF on the web and look for their distributors or email them to ask for this information. There must by now be many more manufacturers but these were the big 3 some time ago. I do not know of any reason why you could not buy one or two from a distributor.

You can buy online from this place: http://www.rino.co.uk/main.asp?category=Bearings&gclid=CPaP9PqLpYwCFQNQEgodHw--6g
They may be cheaper if you pop over to China!
I remember when we had an industry in Britain and if you wanted bearings you poped round to GKN and said I want some bearings mate and he would say "where to?"
