Depends on your focus. You can go into marketing, advertising, journalism, etc...
Or into research on communicating and the different mediums/forms as well as issues ways people with disabilities/diseases communicate.
Here's a good resource: http://www.psu.edu/dept/comm/handbook/guide.htm

I have a B.A. in Communication. I completed classes in English, because writing is a form of communication. I also completed classes in journalism, broadcasting, and public relations. Actually, it can lead to a broad field of employment, but it also depends on your location, if there is a demand for this type of work. I live in a very small town, so my career options have unfortunately been somewhat limited.

Question not specific enough. It could mean being a telephone engineer to computer programmer.
These are only two but multiply by 10,000's and you would be getting closer.
All require skill to different degrees and of different types.
