Of a certainty! Ask any cat (in any language you like) and they will silently assure you that there is nothing greater than themselves. ;-)

My friends' cat either hates me or loves me very much. She meows at me all the time, and when I do the same, she actually replies. Although there was this one time when I sat down next to her and she skidded across the table as if someone had pushed her but I SWEAR I didn't even touch her. So, if cats are closer to God, which I hope not, then I have to believe that God dislikes me???

Not according to my culture's beliefs. My mother once said that to be reincarnated as a cat is a real curse indeed.

I honestly don't know.
I think that's how most cats act & feel. I mean think about it. They get to lay around and sleep almost were ever they want, while we take care of their every need.

No cats are not closer to god! Dogs are because that is what their name is backwards.
