don't mix work with partying -- you should never show up for work obviously drunk from the night before or noticably hungover. and never party with people from work unless you want to be the subject of water cooler gossip no matter how good a friend the person seems to be. there are professions like librarian (please see the sad case of harvard librarian desiree goodwin) that frown on any exiteable behavior at all still -- so a lot depends on your line of work.

there are other options!
if you show up hung over it will affect your performance at work.and you may smell to alcohol without realizing it!you will get fired.
good luck.
and if you feel you MUST drink to have fun....you may have a problem with alcohol.go to an AA meeting.it is not contagious.if it is not for you,you do not have to go back.just know what it is!
good luck

Party as much as you like as long as it doesn't interfere with doing a good job at work.

do whatever you used to enjoy before you started partying, expand & use your talents. Unless you enjoy destroying irreplacable braincells that much. Just consider how much partying and how often might be too much.
