NATURALLY! I take it you know about diet - there are plenty of resources of the internet (there's also a lot of rubbish as well):

http://www.europeanvegetarian.org/evu/english/news/news002/meatless_muscle.html
http://www.bodybuildersnetwork.com/fitness/
(the best sites tell you interesting stuff, without every second word being 'buy this...')

If you are looking for muscle growth, you'll need to join a gym. By 'taking gym' I assume it's part of your school curriculum. Just remember that an adult body can put on only about 3 - 6lb (max) of muscle a year, however, you have picked the right time to do this coz your body is maturing quickly and you are laying down muscle faster, so by the time you're 20 you can naturally and safely have about 20-25lb of solid, packed muscle. I realise that might sound like nothing, given that there are people offering miracle growth serums, etc but because you need to put these INTO your body, they affect your body's chemistry and have truely horifying long term effects (are you sure you want to feel and act like a 60-70 yo when you're 35?)

With the right diet and the appropriate range of vitamin and protein supplements - your own body creates the exact balance of chemicals for you - these will allow your muscle to develop. Get a tailored workout program when you're at the gym - If you're doing reps, increase these steadily and vary the weights to simulate heavy working hard in the outside world (away from the unnatural gym environment) where you would be using these same muscles to move a range of things - each with different weights ( or you could move to a farm (hee-hee :-) ) Be aware that multiple-reps can get boring - just keep your eye on the goal!

There seems to be have been a move towards steroid abuse in the body building world since the late 1950's. Don't get me wrong, seeing such fantastic development of body and mind is great, but when you consider the side effects - crippling arthritis; osteoporosis; higher prevalence of cancers; ouch!

You are young, hence your body will develop faster as you work out and your quick recovery time will help you to bounce back faster - get advice from the folk around you in the gym - but if they offer you anything illicit - ask yourself, are they doing that because they want to help or is it because they want the money

It's going to be difficult doing this but the end results will allow you to stay in the game for longer

Stay safe

You don't want to get fat while trying to gain weight. So be sure to increase your exercise program. You need to increase your protein and caloric intake. Beef and peanut butter are good for this. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and starches too. Stay away from junk food and sugary snacks. Be sure to rest at least an hour after a meal then work out.

okay a gallon of milk a day is ridiculous. 4 glasses is more than enough. pasta, potatoes, wheats and grains, cereals, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (an easy and classic favorite), stuff loaded in carbs will get you started. for muscle mass, keep a high level of protein coming too. chicken, fish, eggs, nuts, cheese, etc. don't hesitate to fit in a 4th meal in the day, but don't get fat. stay active to an extent, and remember, carbs carbs carbs. if you're really crazy and unhealthy about it, eat late at night before bed.

Whatever you do don't go eating masses of junk food- that will put weight on your stomach and won't go where you want it to go.
Eat red meat, lots of butter/ olive oil/ mayognaise
Eat lots of eggs
Eat lots of nuts- like 300g per day
Eat healthy food.
I put on weight very quickly on junk food- but I couldn't stop- I put weight on my stomach, my bum- ALL the places I didn't want it.
