before going depressed or worse.

Depends on now, 'right now'. In many circumstances, being 'depressed' may be normal. The amount of stress any one person can take depends on the amount of stress that person has had to take in the past and the amount of (perceived) stress the person is subjected to right now. It doesn't really matter what has come before- it doesn't matter if others think it is too much or nothing.... what matters is that it IS too much for that person right now.

If you feel overwhelmed- talk to somebody, ANYBODY. Communication is the answer.

The level of stress a person can take varies between different people. You need to find a way to handle your stress. Get a hobbie that you can do that relaxes you or find a activity that you can enjoy. Myself I like to sit in my recliner turn on a brite lite and read a good book to let go of a what what is stressing me. My brother uses music for the same thing. Also if you get depressed and stay that way for more then 2 weeks, or you find that it is affecting your life you could have Clinical depression which has many different cause not just stress, like a chemical imbalance. If that is the case you should go speak to you Doctor.

Wow, that's like asking how long does it take clouds to gather before the rain falls?

Answer: Everybody is different. We are all at different places in our life, different maturity levels, with different stress thresholds. We each handle stress in our own way. It's how you approach challenges and difficulties.

Some people try to take on the whole problem at once and break.

Another will add one more piece of straw to the load on the camel's back and it doesn't feel like it's that much more weight to carry.

It varies from person to person, but anything that brings you out of your comfort zone has a chance to do it

You can take more than you think you can. But it eventually adds up and can make you very ill.
