You can start with a regular doctor. Doctors are trained in recognizing and to an extent, treating psychological and emotional problems.

Your doctor will be able to refer you to a psychologist, or a psychiatrist (can prescribe medication) if they think you would benefit from one.

You can also just go straight to a psychologist/psychiatrist and start from there. They may refer you to a regular physician if they think there's an underlying problem that a physician can help.

School counselors and family Dr.s are usually the first ones to deal with an ADD suspicion.

The psychologist would be the specialist they would send you to.
