I see no problem what so ever, so long as you're both honest during communication. Why should the medium matter? You could have this conversation in person, over the phone, via text message or online - if you're both clear about what you want and your intents are compatible with each other then that's all that matters and would seem to be strong ground for trying out a relationship.

I don't think he is much of a boyfriend if he is threatening you! No matter how nice he sounds, he could be lying and coz its through the internet, they can say anything about themselves and get away with it! I think you should stop talking to him and make sure you DONT give him your personal details!
