I spoke to my boyfriend's younger step brother on the phone earlier today and he said that he just had to tell me that he saw this woman on the street who was so much uglier than me. He could not believe how much this ugly person looked like me, that he had to stop her and ask if she had any relatives in my state. He went on and on about how much she looked like me and about how much more uglier she was.
I only met this person once before and we got along fine and there was no hostility or problems between us.
I was shocked that someone would be this rude and say something so horrible so I just laughed. What could I have said to defend myself? I suppose he thought this was funny, but it really wasn't.
My boyfriend said I should have said at least I am not an alcoholic, unemployed drop out who got fired from every minimum wage job I ever had, but that would have been so mean to say something like that.
What do you say to someone who is this rude and obnoxious?

Wow. Was he drunk? Pay no mind to people of little minds. It's not your drama, so don't let it become yours. Forget about him, and let him complain by himself.

Hi , first of all it is really sad that this 'step'brother' spoke to u so rudely , such an unexpected response was totally uncalled for.
but could I request you to seriously give this step-brother another thought , looks like he hs other issues, he is an alcoholic and he keeps losing jobs, so obviously he has very little self respect , whereas ur boyfriend is doin well he even has a girlfriend , in other words this step brother envies ur boyfriend and took it out on u , coz he cannot be so nasty to ur boyfriend , but let me tell u ....indireclty this step brother was asking for your attntion, he is lonely and he is sad , which has everything to do with his environment , bringing up etc, u being a woman should/can help him , it is very nice of u to not to be nasty with him , u shud tell ur bf to show more kindness to him, u can counter him with showing him kindness, and sweetness, do help him , people like thse are very sad and struggle with inferiority complexes and eventually turn into sadists or criminals, pls don ever snub him back , show him respect , if u can help or change a person only and only by using some kind words , a little respect ....it will bring u much more happiness than any other .

Let me applaud you on your good manners and poise. Your sense of humor. You didn't let a rude person bring you down to his lower level. You maintained your dignity. And yes, he is all that, what your b/f said. He is beneath you; you were very, very cool and handled a difficult situation with much more maturity than most people. I don't think you need to "defend" yourself...........but I can understand that you were totally shocked at his words to you. He doesn't have any character.

Gnats love water, so don't water for a few days or weeks until you see no more of their eggs in the soil. Its summer now, keep your gnat infected plants in scorching sun. If possible replace the fungi soil with fresh soil from garden stores. You could also try buying some sticky traps available. Well these are solutions if the source of the gnats are from your house plants.

Sounds like he was drunk, for sure. With drunks and/or obnoxious little punks, I find that witty comments and turning their own words against them always works. Except when the situation might involve blood. That's not for everyone though.
If you weren't able to do something like that to him, just tell your boyfriend that.

How old is this kid? Sounds like he needs a reality check. Good looks fade without botox and surgery, something he wont be able to afford working at McDonald's.

sounds to me like he was just jealous that you already had a boyfriend or he was mad at his step brother and wanted to make him feel like his girlfriend wasn't all that great... but still i think he secretly must think you are hot or something.. jealousy lol

No sense in feeding the fire of this bitter life . . . he's a crappy person he knows it.
