I'm a Christian, and free will is a myth. A false myth.
Read the other answers and understand the folly of them.
They make God appear like an inept moron, who does not know what's happening.
Silly blasphemy
These guys claim free will because they want God to be with them without God telling them what to do.

Deuteronomy 30:19:
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
and how about Joshua 24:15:
And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
And last, but not least, Revelation 3:20 (note the word "if")
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
You see, you DO have a choice. Make the right one!

The story about Adam and Eve allowing Satan (the serpent) to influence them. If man did not have free will, then no one but God could have influenced them to do anything. You will find it in the book of Genesis. Also, throughout the Bible, it speaks of making the choice to follow God. No free will....no opportunity for choice.

We are given freewill by the prevenient grace of God. Wesley believed that we are all totally depraved, but through prevenient grace we are given a choice. Without it we are slaves to sin.
"...the divine love that surrounds all humanity and precedes any and all of our conscious impulses. This grace prompts our first wish to please God, our first glimmer of understanding concerning God's will, and our 'first slight transient conviction' of having sinned against God. God's grace also awakens in us an earnest longing for deliverance from sin and death and moves us toward repentance and faith"

curiously no longer. i'm shocked in any respect the translation, evasion, qualification and average hand-washing your question has provoked between "believers". it extremely is between the main troublesome passages in the gospels. It in reality says, "Christians lose, gracefully." no person likes to pay attention that, yet that's what Jesus says. it extremely isn't any longer approximately our convenience or our secure practices. it extremely is approximately changing the international through our occasion, through showing human beings there is extra to life than looking after oneself. we are to concern ourselves with the welfare of anybody, even our "enemies". human beings do no longer pass to conflict because of the fact they are loopy. They do it because of the fact of worried lack of expertise and fake effect. "Our reason" is often "purely", no count which edge says it. And conflict can in basic terms happen if human beings refuse any attempt to comprehend their "enemies", see their consumer-friendly humanity, or grow to be familiar with their grievances. conflict ends the two while one edge can now no longer combat (proving no longer something!), or while the real issues are finally addressed. A conflict gained in basic terms produces resentment, that can in basic terms be triumph over through "going the extra mile". Why no longer pass that extra mile first and shop a good type of grief? Mark Twain has an thrilling attitude on conflict and faith:

God can program us all to obey Him absolutely. The fact that any person can make decisions against the will of God shows that he has free will. Those Christian who wants to surrender their will to God will have to pray, "Not my will but Thy will be done in my life."

People choose to sin. People lie, cheat, steal, commit adultery, kill, and any other sin.
